Kindy Program

 

The kindy program at Wellard Early Learning Centre & Out of School Hours Care offers a wide range of activities designed to develop children’s communication, learning, and motor skills. Our program focuses on nurturing the whole child in a supportive and engaging environment, using a cross-curricular approach to encourage learning through play. By fostering a love for learning at a young age, we aim to help children become lifelong learners.

 

Learning and Activities

 

Our program includes a mix of structured and flexible learning experiences. While we have set objectives, we also allow time for child-led learning. If a child shows a strong interest in a particular area, our teachers adapt the schedule to explore and expand their knowledge.

 

Children participate in:

Rest and relaxation time

Indoor and outdoor play

Circle time for group discussions and social development

Early maths and literacy activities

Special activities, including music and movement

Arts and crafts to encourage creativity

Hands-on learning experiences

 

Meal and Nutrition Learning

 

Kindy children bring their own snacks and lunch to help prepare them for school. Mealtimes are an important part of our day, where we teach children about nutrition and the benefits of a healthy, balanced diet. This also provides a wonderful opportunity for children and educators to interact and build relationships.

 

Outdoor Play and Exploration

 

Our centre has a fantastic outdoor play area that all children enjoy. During outdoor playtime, children are required to wear a hat and sunscreen in accordance with our SunSmart Policy. Teachers actively engage with children, encouraging exploration, creativity, and problem-solving during free play.
